Michelle opened Michelle’s Interiors in 2008, fulfilling a lifelong love of design. Starting with small projects and working with friends, Michelle has grown her design business through her talent, skill, and commitment to her clients. Michelle’s fascination with decorating began as a little girl, expressed as she painted, wallpapered, and made furniture for her dollhouse – as well as re-arranging her own room MANY times. It was carried through her first career as she decorated her own home and helped friends with theirs. Finally, it reached its completion in starting her own business in the design field.
Michelle is a huge believer in training and education for any professional field. She holds an Associate of Science degree in Interior and Architectural Design from Collin College. This unique program includes an emphasis in sustainable or “green” design, and Michelle has taken multiple specific classes in the area of sustainable design and is familiar with programs such as LEED, Green Built Texas, and Green Guard. Products and principles from these programs are utilized in her designs whenever possible.
In addition, Michelle holds a Bachelors degree in English from Texas A&M University and a Masters degree in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
One of Michelle’s objectives is to maintain a healthy living environment as well as doing her part to maintain our world for generations to come, and she makes it a point to specify sustainable materials and low-VOC finishes for clients when applicable.
Michelle’s first career was as a Licensed Professional Counselor. After nine years in the counseling field, and ready for a new challenge, she began Michelle’s Interiors. Those years spent walking alongside clients during challenging times created a very unique approach to design. Michelle’s goal is to take those things you love and are drawn towards in design and create a beautiful, peaceful living space. You could not ask for more in someone who listens closely to your wants and needs and communicates clearly about details with the project and budget. The most common complaint with designers is that they do not listen to their clients -- bloating the budget, projecting their own style onto the space. Michelle’s purpose is to take YOUR style and YOUR goals and turn your home into a gorgeous space.Michelle is trained in AutoCAD and ArchiCAD and is able to create 3D renderings for the interior space that is being designed as well as floor plans, furniture layouts, cabinetry drawings, remodeling designs...whatever you need for your project.
